packages

Here you can find some packages I have built for Ubuntu Dapper, and packages that I've found floating around the Internet that may be difficult to find these days. No guarantees, these packags work for me but might break your system.
Browse the package directory, or pick what you like below.

Packages built for Ubuntu Dapper

Exaile! music player for GNOME. This is a new music player modeled after the famous amaroK player for KDE. A very young project by synic, this is only version 0.1.
If you want to use Exaile, it is a good idea to keep up to date by following the Exile thread on the Ubuntu Forums, and checking the home page once in a while. Development is active there!
Download Exaile! 0.1
UPDATE: Download Exaile! 0.2 from the Exaile! homepage instead.

GNOME Phone Manager 0.7. I built this package because the 0.6 version in Dapper is broken. This package has a packaging bug, you need to make a symlink from the cellphone.png icon in /usr/share/pixmaps to /usr/share/gnome-phone-manager after installation. Read the README. Also, gnome-phone-manager depends on libgnokii2, but the package doesn't. So you'll have to install that from the dapper repositories as well.

LyX 1.4.1. This is the latest LyX release I built for Dapper because Dapper only has LyX 1.3. Qt version only, because the experimental GTK+ port is quite unstable, and the XForms version is too jurassic.
Download lyx-common

REOBack. my backup solution of choice. This project hasn't been active since March 2002, but hey, how often do you need to update a perfectly working perl script? I converted the available RPM package into a Debian package with alien.

Obscure packages found on the Net

I'll include Kimmo Hämäläinen's finnish-english and english-finnish dictionary packages for your dict server here. I cannot find these files anywhere anymore, so chances are you won't find them easily either.
